It collects data in the background and requires permissions for precise location even when the app is not in the foreground. To stop collecting data, including your location, simply exit the application. Pinpoint collects and uploads data to our secure cloud services including a cryptographic hash of the phone number to place the users in the appropriate customer account and produce coverage maps for the account (each account consists of a group of users).
